Apertures in Mud

Yossi Assouline

2016

A wordless graphic novel, made in linoleum cuts, depicting a meeting of three figures: a man, a woman and a bear.
The story consists of nine chapters that occur alternately between the forest and the city, which creates two parallel yet connected plots. In each episode the characters appear and dissolve without portraying a story of their own and eventually sharing the same destiny. The reader is required to connect the dots of the different fragments in order to complete and interpret the storyline.
