Brandy and the Psychedelic Mold
Ayelet Ben Dor
2022
The comics follow two characters, Brandy – a small, old and gluttonous dog who escapes on a bingeing trip to Tel Aviv’s Carmel Market – and the woman who is looking for him. After eating a mold-infested bread, Brandy is sent on a full-on psychedelic trip and Ben Dor’s drawings capture such altered state in which the pavement becomes an abstract composition, cats from Louis Wain’s paintings appear to taunt Brandy while his body dissolves into geometric forms, seraphim-poodles are luring him to join them and the street cries "Brandy".
