Asaf Elkalai was born in Kerem Ben Zimra (1986), currently based in Tel Aviv. Artist, lecturer and teacher in the fields of installation, sculpture, photography, print and video. He explores the temporal and spatial relationships between durations, dimensions, and trajectories - negative and positive, or horizontal and vertical.
His works are exhibited in museums in Israel and abroad and part of collections such as The Israel Museum, The Tel Aviv Museum. Elkalai holds a BA and MFA from Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, and Art Education studies at The Hebrew University, he has won many awards, including the prestigious Elovic Award, and the Young Artist Award from the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
