I will be magnified and sanctified

When my father passed away, he had only been in Israel a few short years, and hardly anyone knew him really well. The stories that one often hears from family and friends at a shiva were absent. I had to do all the talking, and this became oppressive day after day. It felt like a performance to me. This etching is both in memory of my father, but also a graphic reminder that for some people shiva can be difficult and feel endless.
