My Counterfeit Israeli Family
Andi Arnovitz
2022
Since the day I made Aliyah, I wish I was a real Israeli- fluent in Hebrew and with family who had lived in Jerusalem for generations. Stumbling across an old photo album that someone had thrown away, I decided to create my own family and Israeli history. With some humor and a deep sense of nostalgia, the book features incredible photographs from the 1950’s, juxtaposed with watercolors, and weaves stories of a make-believe family. The book includes 22 photographs, hand cut and glued onto Giclée prints.
