Oz Malul (born 1977) is an interdisciplinary artist and musician, a graduate of School of Visual Arts in New York, and a lecturer at Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. His artistic practice focuses on kinetic sculpture and the construction of “malfunctioning machines” — electrical devices with a human, vulnerable, and playful character that challenge conventional notions of functionality and technology. Alongside his visual art practice, Malul is a reggae and dub musician, incorporating humor and social awareness into his work. His works have been exhibited at the Israel Museum and in leading galleries, and he has published an artist’s book that encapsulates his distinctive body of work.
