The Flowers of 2016
2017
Mount Herzl Military Cemetery
The book contains photographs of flowers from military gravesites at the Mount Herzl Military Cemetery. The visitors' path follows a circular route, beginning at the entrance to the cemetery and continuing through memorials dedicated to Jewish fallen soldiers who died before the establishment of the state, the Garden of the Missing in Action (commemorating those whose burial place is unknown), and burial plots of those who fell during the founding of the state and its early years.
The path then passes by the memorial to victims of hostile acts and terrorism, the “Last Descendants” memorial, and continues to the section of the nation’s leaders, the section of Zionist movement leaders, and the grave of the visionary of the state, among them Theodor Herzl. Alongside each photograph, the image’s location is noted according to the different zones along the route.
