The Pale
2007
The body of work The Pale consists of photographs taken in the West Bank, documenting landscapes and Jewish settlements before and after the evacuation of the residents of Gush Katif. Ickowicz is not a representative of either side in the conflict, but rather a photographer who observes, investigates, and reflects on the nature of the place. The introductory text to the book, written by Prof. Ariel Hirschfeld, elucidates Itzkovitz’s photographs. The book accompanies an exhibition presented in May 2007.
