Prof. Merav Salomon is an illustrator, book artist, and Professor of Illustration in the Visual Communication Department and the MFA program at Bezalel Academy, where since 2020 she has headed the Center for the Teaching of Art and Design, which she co-founded. From 2007 to 2018 she led the Illustration Track at Bezalel. She is the founder and editor-in-chief of Salomon & Daughters, a publishing house for visual books for adults. Her books and illustrations have won numerous international and local awards, including the 2022 World Illustration Award for Most Beautiful Illustrated Book, the Communication Arts Excellence Award, the Gold Medal of the Society of Illustrators (USA), and the Israeli Ministry of Culture Design Award. Her work has been featured in leading magazines and exhibited in solo and group shows in Israel and abroad, including at the Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art, the German Museum of Illustration, Somerset House in London, the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, and other international galleries.
