Watch

“Watch” is an eight-page series of etchings and silkscreened poetry, with hand-cut windows and hand-sewn screens of silk organza. Leah wrote these poems as testimony and ode to her father who slowly lost his mind to Alzheimer’s. The pages are folded inward, so no one can actually access the entire etching - only a fragment can be seen, and always through a thin veil of silk. Threads hang loose, as Leah’s father was a tailor and sewing was his profession. But in this artist’s book the threads are messy and unkempt, a metaphor for her father's state of mind.
