Yael Efrati (b.1981) is an Israeli artist based in Tel Aviv. She holds both a BFA and MFA from the Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem. Efrati's artistic practice merges photography and sculpture, often referred to as "documentary sculpture." Her work engages with everyday moments and urban spaces, focusing on perspectives and memory. For Efrati, the importance is not the object, but the way it evokes the memory, or actually, the imaginative activation of the space, emphasizing the relationships between the human, the architectural, and the place itself.
Efrati has shown notable exhibitions at the Center for Contemporary Art, Tel Aviv and at the Israel Museum, Jerusalem. Her work has been featured in international venues such as the Kochi-Muziris Biennale in India and NURTUREart in New York.
