Pavel Wolberg was born on September 6, 1966, in Leningrad, USSR, and immigrated to Israel in 1973. He studied photography at Camera Obscura, Tel Aviv (1994). Since 1997, he has worked for newspapers, magazines, and news agencies, including Haaretz and The New York Times. His photographs have been published in journals and magazines in Israel and abroad, and he has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Israel and worldwide. In 2007, he participated in the 52nd Venice Biennale. His works are held in public and private collections in Israel and around the world. He lives and works in Tel Aviv.
