Maïell

2022

During a short trip to Poland in November 2021, Maïell document their confrontation with the past in a foreign land, where history clashes with present realities. Unexpected encounters lead them, equipped with their cameras, to discover their familial memory, participate in a demonstration for women's rights to abort and to visit the horrifying extermination and concentration camps. Their journey under the cloudy and freezing Krakow sky, left them with a feeling of depression. Through photography, they try to bring light to this phase of their life.
