Retreat

The artist's book Retreat was published in May 2021. The book includes a series of ink drawings selected from hundreds of works from the last decade. Originally they were all drawn on newsprint in a uniform format of 45x61 cm.
The project refers to the framework of the artist's work in the studio as a space of retirement from everyday life, a place of refuge and retreat from the world. Fragments of reality from the outside, fragments of memories and pieces of images flash into the essence of seclusion in the studio. All of these find their way to the page in an automatic action that reproduces the rhythm of the outside, gets used to it and dedicates itself to the rediscovery of the phenomena, as they are embodied in the drawings themselves.
