The Berlin Notepad

Yair Garbuz

2008

"In 2008 I traveled with a small notebook and came back with a pad of paper that I liked. It started as a joke: I thought I too deserved to sit in a cafe and write “letter drawings.” Unlike my paintings, which are very large, a pad is small and intimate, and if I started a pad I have to finish it. I really like to give gifts, and there are things that cannot be given because they are too expensive or too big. A notepad is something you can give, or tear off a page from. The printed pads are very similar to the originals, and it’s a gift that’s pleasant to hold in your hand. Each notepad stands on its own, and there are around 100 copies of it."
