Every Shore Is A Book

In honor of the summer that has arrived in full force, I want to recommend three books that deal with the visual mythology of the sea. Each of the artists refers to other waters, at a different level of physical concreteness. Yana Rotner corresponds with Haim Nachman Bialik and his famous poem “The Sea of Silence Emits Secrets"; Noa Ben-Nun Melamed continues her exploration of the sea in Atlantis; and Sigalit Landau with her monumental book Salt Years which marks 15 years of work in the Dead Sea.
