Elvis My Dog (1)

2021

The artist's book ׳Elvis My Dog׳ contains drawings from the last year of his life. Elvis served as my home "model" for many years. His presence permeated my paintings. He was always there and during times when I felt stuck in terms of painting, writing it down was a refuge like what happens when drawing a still life. His appearance always intrigued me and drew me to paint. Fur with a reddish copper tone, a sculpted body that was easy to shape. Elvis on the armchair or the carpet, seems to add to the homely feeling. Elvis lived with me for 15 years and I was very attached to him. When he got old I decided to immortalize him in a master book. The paintings are in oil colors on paper.
