Sacred Geometry
Noa Ginzburg and Noa Shaham
2017
Sacred Geometry is an artist’s book collaboration of visual artist Noa Ginzburg and poet Noa Shaham. The book was published in January 2017.
Sacred Geometry is part of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art Library artist’s book collection, and participated at the Artport Artist’s Book Fair in 2017. The book was made possible by generous support from the Asylum Arts organization, and was designed and brought to print by Studio Harel and Maayan.
Sacred Geometry consists of five posters, each 120 cm long and 80 centimeters wide. Poster by poster, in manual and independent work, they tentatively divided the page into double spreads, selected and recorded poems and drawings. Each poster was scanned and made into double spreads, eventually forming 120 pages, which they have placed before the reader. Together, these modern poems and drawings seek to challenge traditional conceptions of text and image, explore common consciousness and propose a mutually subversive stance on issues of canon and gender. The drawings were created at the same time as selecting and transferring the poems onto the paper, in conversation with them, both materially and conceptually. Thus, together, rhythm, a bond and balance were created. The combination of image and text seek to transform consciousness, explain and reveal truth. Lexipot is a folded digitally printed poster/zine, based on the third poster (of five) in our creation process of Sacred Geometry. Lexipot was produced for TLV 2016 illustration week and was part of the Fun-Fanzine Festival.
