The Story of the First Gallery in Tel Aviv
"Who founded Dizengoff Street?" asked Shlomo Shva in the title of his article about Moshe Katz, and then went on to declare that the latter, "…could say, with a large degree of justice, that he is the 'founder' of Dizengoff Street". Indeed, while Moshe Katz had a significant role in the establishment of the street as the bohemian epicenter of Tel Aviv, he also has many stakes in the flourishing of the local art and culture scene, including founder's rights as the "founder of the first gallery in Tel Aviv" and the "pioneer of art commerce in Israel". The current chapter is dedicated to the stories of Katz Art Gallery and its founder Moshe Katz.
