Maybe We'll Come Back Here One of These Days
Gali Popper
2017
"Maybe we'll come back here one of these days." This is what my mother wrote on one of the postcards, that she send me. From this postcard I choose all the letters Lammed (Hebrew L), that are so different. Again and again I study the signature of her name, "Leah." A Lammed followed by a period. I keep writing them on top of layers of black copy papers, like calligraphy. The letters appear in pairs, two by two, like mother and daughter.
I write them on the wavy postage stamps, which remind me of notebook lines, and the round ones, which remind me of a child's drawing.
